Banners manages phpBB header banners cleanly and flexibly: weighted random selection on every page load, image and video support, full admin interface.
Frontend
- Weighted random selection: a banner is picked on every page load from the active set
- Weight system: 1 by default, a weight of 2 doubles the appearance odds
- Multi-format: images (jpg/jpeg/png/gif/webp) and videos (mp4/webm)
- Looping autoplay videos, muted
- Clickable destinations per banner
Administration (ACP)
- Module in ACP > Extensions > Banner management
- Global toggle to enable/disable display in one click
- Configurable folder path (default
images/bannieres) - Scan folder: auto-imports newly detected files
- Visual preview of each banner full-size in the ACP
- Per-banner editing: destination URL, title, weight (1 to 100), individual activation
- Delete the DB entry (the source file is never deleted)
Automatic migration
On first activation, the extension scans the folder and imports existing files. On the original forum, 76 historical banners were imported with their pre-configured links and titles.
